Any guarantees or warranties for our roof cleaning services are confirmed in your written quotation and typically relate to the agreed scope of work and workmanship. They do not usually cover normal weathering, new organic growth, pre-existing roof defects or damage caused by third parties; any product or coating warranties are subject to the manufacturer’s terms.

Any guarantee or warranty applying to your roof cleaning service is confirmed in the written quotation and agreed scope of works before cleaning begins. It will normally relate to the standard of workmanship, the work carried out and any specific treatment or coating used. It does not generally guarantee that a roof will remain free from moss, algae, lichen or staining indefinitely, as organic growth and weathering can return naturally.

The quotation should be treated as the controlling document because the appropriate commitment depends on the roof’s condition, materials, access requirements, cleaning method and whether additional treatments have been specified. If a particular warranty or result is important to your organisation, it should be discussed before approval so that it can be described clearly in the quotation.

Where a workmanship guarantee is provided, it is intended to cover defects in the agreed cleaning work. For example, this may include an area that was unintentionally missed or work that does not conform to the agreed method. It does not normally cover:

• new moss, algae, lichen or other organic growth after the service;
• normal weathering, staining or deterioration caused by the roof’s age and exposure;
• pre-existing defects, leaks, loose tiles, failed seals or inadequate drainage;
• damage caused by subsequent building work, other contractors, occupants, animals or third parties;
• changes resulting from severe weather or conditions outside our control; or
• work that has been altered, repaired or treated by another party after completion.

Roof cleaning removes contamination, but it cannot correct underlying construction or maintenance problems. Before work starts, we assess visible roof conditions and identify issues that may affect the result or introduce risk. Where a defect could affect cleaning or invalidate an expected outcome, it will be raised with you. Some repairs may need to be completed by a suitable roofing contractor before cleaning proceeds.

If a biocide, sealant, protective treatment or other proprietary product is included, any product warranty is separate from our workmanship commitment. It is subject to the manufacturer’s terms, including permitted surfaces, preparation requirements, application conditions and maintenance obligations. We can explain the relevant product information and provide available documentation where applicable, but we cannot extend or replace the manufacturer’s warranty.

Any stated warranty may also depend on reasonable access for inspection, compliance with agreed aftercare advice and prompt notification of an issue. If you believe the completed work does not meet the agreed scope, contact us with the site details and a description of the concern. We will review the original quotation, completion information and relevant site conditions, then arrange an inspection where necessary. If the issue is covered, the agreed remedial action will be confirmed before it is undertaken.

For commercial and industrial premises, ongoing maintenance can be arranged separately from any initial cleaning warranty. A planned inspection or cleaning schedule helps manage recurring organic growth and weather-related soiling, but it is not the same as a permanent guarantee against recontamination. The frequency and scope should reflect the roof material, surrounding trees, site use, drainage and exposure.

Before accepting a quotation, check that it identifies the areas included, cleaning method, preparation and treatment, completion standard, exclusions, aftercare requirements and any applicable guarantee period or manufacturer warranty. If the quotation does not state that a warranty applies, do not assume one is included; ask us to clarify the position in writing.
